5 Basic Spiritual Tools To Grow Your Faith

By Lisa Campbell

Faith only grows to become meaningful when it is properly nurtured. To nurture this faith, you need to utilize spiritual tools that will address various aspects of your life. This requires total transformation and a lifestyle change that will draw you closer to God. Consider the following basic elements of spirituality and use them to enhance your life.

Reading the word of God is compulsory for any Christian who desires to grow his or her spirituality. God speaks to his people through the Bible. It is from reading the world that you will understand the His will upon your life. You may also read expositions by anointed men and women of God like pastors and apostles. Once you read this word, you will remain grounded and thus grow in faith.

Pray persistently. Prayer helps you to connect with God. Most people will only pray when they need help from God. However, a true Christian is required to pray when he has something and when he is lacking. At the point when God has granted your prayer, you are required to kneel down in thanks giving. Include fasting in your prayers so to enable you concentrate.

Learn the power of praise and worship. The bible requires Christians to worship in spirit and truth. This means that you will be singing songs of praise while at the same time living the life dictated in the bible. It is your actions that will show that you are a worshiper in truth and spirit. In the absence of action, all your praises and worship will be regarded as noise.

Engage in a community of believers who will help strengthen your faith. Sharing the word of God benefits your spirit to a great extent. Different believers have dynamic perspectives about God and life. It is through sharing that you understand these perspectives. You also get to learn how God has blessed other people differently. You will appreciate the favor shown on your life.

Serve other people in your community. There are people who need to hear the message of Christ. These people are waiting to hear this message through your testimonies and actions. Be ready to go out and spread the word. You should also manifest your spirituality through acts of charity. God also uses people in need to communicate His desires and purpose in life. Unless you can serve the people you live with, you will not be exercising the call of Christianity.

Take time to reflect on the things that God has done in your life. Daily chores and a demanding life leave many people with no time to look back at their lives. You forget that though God did not give that which you asked for, He gave something else. You become arrogant and disgruntled. Reflect on the goodness of God and be thankful.

Like a vehicle on the road, spirituality requires constant refilling. Share your experiences with other people in a community of believers. Take guidance from an anointed man who will direct you onto paths of righteousness. Once these pillars become a part of your life, it will change and take a different trajectory never seen before.
