For many years, the media has been attacking top televangelists such as: Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyers, Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes and many others. They have been attacked because of their material value for the most part. The media try to say that these evangelists and pastors bring in millions of dollars a year and live in luxurious homes. However, is it ever a sin to live this way if the poor and starving all around us? Are pastors supposed to be held on a higher level as a representation of how to live.
It is important to first understand that being wealthy is not a sin. Great men of God such as: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, David and many others were all rich. Even Moses lived in a palace. If being rich were a sin, then these men would not have been considered messengers of God or anointed men and women of God. It's interesting to see that men and women of God are always getting picked on. Many people believe that they should only live in a basic home with a poverty looking effect to it. The true question is, can these men and women really live like your average "Joe" on the street.
When I became a psychic, I was shocked to find out how many Christian's were calling me. I thought that people that did not believe in Jesus would be calling me. However, nothing could be further from the truth. My telephone began to ring off the wall when people found out that I was a Christian psychic. I know that many Christians prophets from the past would have loved to have the opportunity to work on the psychic hotline if they could. The fact that he can earn good money doing what he does is a true blessing. If he makes good money, it's because he is good at what he does. Nobody just hands you millions of dollars if you don't deserve it.
A few weeks past and I saw him once again. I said, "Did you confess your sins to others that you have hurt?" He said, "yes". He was able to contact most of the people that he had hurt, and he said that he was sorry. The people really appreciated it and he realized that he had to become a new man. I said, "Now you won't have the urge to drink as much or to have emotional pain." I said, "We only have emotional pain and the feelings of guilt when we owe someone an apology for what we have done to them. Sometimes it takes more than I am sorry. Sometimes we have to say it repeatedly to let them really know how bad we feel about it. Some people must give something material as well as an apology for what they have done. John agreed with me and said, "I feel so much better. How can I thank you?" I said to him, "You don't have to thank me. Just do right from now on. Don't be mean and think of other people's feelings before your own." It's interesting how much time we put into painful memories. All that we really must do is say to someone that we are sorry. We are sorry for offending and hurting them. We are sorry for saying mean things to them or doing something that is evil. When we have guilt, it eats at us. Admitting that we did something wrong is hurtful. We often have shame when we have done wrong. However, when we confess our sins to one another and then to God, we release something that is profound. I believe that we can all free our minds of guilt and pain when we release our hurt and pain to the Lord. Jesus is always waiting there to forgive us. Praise God that He gives us the opportunity to grow.
